Airports & transfers to Lloret de Mar

The two airports

Barcelona–El Prat (BCN)

The main international airport, about 90 km from Lloret de Mar (around 1h 15min by car). All major European and intercontinental airlines fly here. Two terminals: T1 (most airlines) and T2 (some low-cost).

Girona–Costa Brava (GRO)

Smaller regional airport, about 35 km from Lloret de Mar (around 40 minutes by car). Mostly low-cost European flights — Ryanair, Jet2, Transavia. Cheaper transfers, faster arrival.

Transfer options compared

Direct bus

The Moventis SARFA bus runs directly from both airports to Lloret de Mar bus station several times a day. From Barcelona airport (T1 and T2), the journey takes about 1h 30 and costs around €18 one-way. From Girona airport it's about 50 minutes and around €12. Buy tickets online or at the SARFA desk in Arrivals.

Private transfer

Pre-booked door-to-door transfers (Welcome Pickups, Suntransfers and similar) cost roughly €80–120 from Barcelona or €55–80from Girona for a standard car (up to 4 passengers). Best option with kids, luggage or late-night arrivals.

Taxi

Official airport taxis are metered. Expect around €140–170 from Barcelona airport to Lloret de Mar, and €80–100 from Girona. Surcharges apply at night and on holidays.

Rental car

Often the most flexible (and sometimes cheapest) option. Pick up at the airport, drive the AP-7 motorway, and you have a car for day trips all week. See our full car rental guide.

Train + bus

A budget option from Barcelona: take the airport Rodalies R2 train to Sants or Passeig de Gràcia, change to the Renfe regional line to Blanes, then take a local bus or taxi to Lloret de Mar (about 15 minutes). Total journey: 2h 30 to 3h. Around €12 in fares.

Which one should you choose?

  • Two adults, no kids, light luggage → SARFA bus.
  • Family or late-night arrival → private transfer.
  • Plan to do day trips → rental car from the airport.
  • Solo budget traveller arriving in daylight → train + bus via Blanes.

Driving directions to Lloret de Mar

From Barcelona airport

Take the C-32 motorway north (small toll), continue onto the AP-7 (toll-free since 2021), exit at junction 9for Lloret de Mar/Vidreres, then follow the GI-600 for 12 km into town.

From Girona airport

Join the AP-7 south for one stop, exit at junction 9 for Lloret de Mar/Vidreres, and follow the GI-600 for 12 km. Around 35 minutes.

Coming back: getting to the airport

The same SARFA buses run in reverse. Buy tickets in advance during summer — morning departures sell out. Allow at least 2 hours for travel time to BCN and 1h 15 to GRO before your check-in deadline.
