Where to stay

Hotels in Lloret de Mar

From the long beachfront strip to quiet residential corners and the cliff-top resorts of Fenals and Santa Cristina — a complete look at where to sleep in Lloret de Mar.

Boutique hotel pool overlooking the Mediterranean in Lloret de Mar

Lloret de Mar has more hotel beds than almost anywhere else on the Spanish Mediterranean — well over 30,000 rooms in a town of roughly 40,000 residents. That sounds overwhelming, but it actually makes choosing easier: almost every type of stay exists somewhere along the bay, and prices stay competitive even in high summer.

The neighbourhoods

Lloret is shaped like a wide arc of beach with several smaller bays around it. Where you stay shapes the whole feel of your holiday.

  • Lloret Beach (centre) — the main 1.6 km strip. Walking distance to bars, restaurants, the old town and the night-time promenade. Loud in July and August, lively all year.
  • Fenals Beach — 15 minutes' walk west. Quieter, family-friendly, with a softer slope into the sea and good shade from pine trees.
  • Santa Cristina & Cala Canyelles — small coves a short drive out. Boutique resorts and adults-only hotels with sea views from the cliffs.
  • Old town & inland — small B&Bs and apartments in narrow Catalan streets, away from the seafront crowd. Best for travellers who want a more local feel.

Which kind of hotel suits you?

Beachfront resorts (4★)

Big, well-run, all-inclusive options sit directly on the seafront promenade — rooftop pools, multiple restaurants and entertainment programmes. Best value if you plan to spend most days at the hotel and the beach.

Adults-only & boutique

A growing category in Lloret. Smaller properties, often on the cliffs above Fenals or Santa Cristina, with infinity pools and a quieter atmosphere. Excellent for couples and off-season travel.

Family hotels

Look for the "Family Friendly" label issued by the Catalan tourist board. These hotels have kids' clubs, splash pools, family rooms and buffet meal times that work with younger children.

Apartments & aparthotels

A practical choice for stays of a week or longer, especially if you have a rental car and want a kitchen. Most have a pool and parking, and they cluster one or two streets back from the beach.

When to book

Prices in Lloret de Mar follow a predictable curve. July and Augustare the peak — book three to six months ahead for the best rooms. May, June, September and early October are the sweet spot: warm sea, far smaller crowds, and rates often 30–40% lower. Many hotels close from November to March.

What to check before you book

  • Distance to the beach — "near the beach" can mean a five-minute walk or a 25-minute hill. Check the map.
  • Air conditioning — almost universal now, but confirm in older properties for July/August stays.
  • Sea view — often a paid upgrade. Worth it for sunrise lovers; less so if you're out all day.
  • Parking — limited and paid in the centre. If you've got a rental car, pick a hotel with on-site parking.
  • Tourist tax — Catalonia charges a small per-night tax (under €4) paid at check-in.
